Subtle but size

When I bought these balls I knew they were bigger than standard balls but I was still shocked when I received them. This is exceptional value. So far the quality is excellent except for the color. Muted color isn't really important for kitchen towels as they will fade over time anyway, but the green was definitely not that dark SS in the picture.

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • Broadly ok but...

Great price for quality cotton thread

I am so glad to be able to purchase this fine cotton thread at a bargain price. I bought the color with the lowest price, from mottled cream to beige. Other colors had higher prices. I make lots and lots of cotton kitchen towels so this price and nice neutral color met my needs. If you want other colors, please be careful and note that most colors are sold at a higher price. Check carefully.

Pros
  • Regular price
Cons
  • Infinitely Sluggish

The quality is NOT what it was!

I've always loved this cotton yarn, but the skeins I've bought over the last year have always had more junk woven into the strands. The quality is not what I'm used to from Lily Sugar N' Cream! Are you now producing abroad? It seems like little chopsticks are everywhere, right? I have to use tweezers to remove them and that loosens the threads, but I definitely can't let them work on my projects! I hope they bring back the original quality! In the meantime, I am looking for a higher qualityโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

Great yarn!

I love this brand and loved the yarn! It turned out a beautiful crochet scarf in the shape of a pineapple. It fits well, great for subjects, I like its weight as it feels solid. The little pops of color on the organic cotton were subtle enough to go with anything. I would definitely take this again and make a second scarf! Note for Beginners (Crochet and Knitting): Cotton can be unforgiving. It doesn't stretch or warp like acrylic, so you need to keep the tension even.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • You could have chosen a newer model

. just finished a rug and my husband and I love the colors

I just finished a rug and my husband and I love the colors! The subtle coloring looks very nice and remains natural. The yarn pulled really well until I used up about 3/4 of the skein and it kind of fell off on its own :-( so I recommend watching closely and rewinding the yarn before it does it to you! It was a nightmare. Unwind and unwind to spool the remaining yarn, but I've learned :)

Pros
  • constant test results
Cons
  • unreliable

Nice but smelly?

I want to start by saying that I love Lily Sugar 'N Cream yarn, especially when working with amigurumi projects and needlelooms that require stiffer yarn. I love this color too - the colored parts of the yarn are just enough apart to not distract from the solid color, but close enough to make a difference! But my yarn stunk. out? I bought Lily Sugar 'N Cream yarn and it was always neatly wrapped in plastic. But not this time, and there was a smell of wet dog. I don't want to blame Lily, but Iโ€ฆ

Pros
  • High marks for hold and durability from testers
Cons
  • Fade
