I ordered 4 sets of these pliers and they were my choice. Only when I'm working with a material that's harder than the pliers I was designed for do I now use a different pliers when working with chains. The only problem I've found with them is that the plastic springs don't like to stay in place. To solve this problem I dipped the ends of the springs into the tool and then put them back on the pliers and the problem was solved.

Lindstrom pliers have been my favorite chain tool for a number of years. I use Tool Magic for the tips so I need a few pairs - 2 pairs in use and more on the dryer rack after coating (I have 6 pairs total). The size is perfect for my small to medium sized hands allowing me to hold the pliers and the part I am working on at the same time. I am disappointed in them. I make chain mail jewelry so I need 2 very good pliers. I saved money to buy them because of the reputation for quality. The spring on the pliers is a separate piece that you insert between the handles. It keeps falling out. I don't know if I put them on correctly because there were no instructions on how to put them on. Because they don't stay, I end up taking them off, but it's very frustrating to use them for hours when you have to open and close without a spring.

These are definitely good well made pliers. After years of using cheaper pliers, the handles on these Lindstom pliers were heaven. The ONLY reason they get 4 stars instead of 5 is the PLASTIC spring between the handles! Come on, dear Lindstom designers, if you want to make a superior product at this price point, put a little more time and effort into designing the nib!
