Suitable for corded garden tools

I was looking for an extension cord reel that would unwind the female end of the power cord (not the male end). This is done to be able to connect the gear I need to easily maneuver around the turf. This cable spool worked well for my needs.

Problem solved or so I thought

I have been gardening around our house for many years and although I will soon be 80 I love the results. A major concern is untangling our extremely heavy 100ft cord when using the unit away from a power source. This reel came with a 14 AWG cord which should have been easy to untwist, but it didn't because the handle was missing a part (the seller didn't have any extra parts) so I ordered another reel and it had it the same problem (both were obvious). returns). 10 foot cable twisted with spool

If you plug a 10 foot cable into an outlet and pull the cable in the spool, the 10 foot cable will twist with the spool and look like a Braid. This twist is not appropriate for a 10 foot cable. The workaround is to pull all the cord out of the spool you need before plugging the 10ft cord into the wall. Unfortunately, I wanted to use this with my corded lawnmower, so it was safer not having that kind of slack to begin with. I also had a problem pulling the cable out of the spool without tipping…
