It is what it is. You don't lie.

It is what it is. I learned a lot from it and it's always a good thing, but Linux software is free to download and you can find most of the same information on the Linux website, plus even more information on how to use Linux and what Linux will be the best solution for your needs.

Pros
  • Outstanding Achievement
Cons
  • Doubtful

Doesn't work on my Dell Inspiron mini

I received my order in the mail on time. I spent three hours trying to boot from USB to no avail. The leaflet that came with the USB said they were support fanatics but didn't give a phone number, instead giving an email address. An email was sent and no reply. I tried to boot from USB using F12, my laptop doesn't recognize the device. The cost of the USB stick was so low that I didn't have to waste time sending it back. Maybe I can delete what's there and use it for something else.

Pros
  • Is it worth the money
Cons
  • Everything great

Wow! My old 2004 Dell screams!

Fairly easy to install. It wipes your hard drive upon installation, but you can boot from a USB drive and save files from your hard drive to another USB drive before installing Mint. My old 2004 Dell Latitude with only 2 gigabytes of RAM is now screaming! It's set up almost exactly like the Windows desktop, so it's easy to customize for use. It includes Firefox Web Browser, Calendar, Libre Office Suite, Bluetooth Support, Software Manager, Update Manager, Rhythmbox Music Player, Thunderbird…

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

It really works as an alternative operating system from Microsoft

I didn't like that the key wasn't sent with the order, but the company was quick to get outraged after the phone call. You just have to follow the installation instructions to avoid a headache, I learned the hard way. I upgraded my old Windows 7 PC to Linux Mint Cinnamon and it runs faster and better than the original OS on the PC. There are learning steps you must go through, but this is typical of any system. . Highly recommended.

Pros
  • Brilliantly done
Cons
  • disappears

Linux is just good for computers and accessories

I have an old Lenovo T61 that was on its way to the landfill but thought it would be nice to have a laptop in the garage at work. So I installed Linux and it worked like a champ. Easy to do for a non-technical person.

Pros
  • good thing
Cons
  • band

Don't buy if you can't run Linux without a GUI.

I expected to boot from a flash drive and have a working operating system. But I'm not a Linux command line expert, so it's useless to me.

Pros
  • Big choice
Cons
  • I don't remember, but there was something
