There are metal keys, but this works well! The only difference I see is that the metal has a hammer to close the lid. Attaching the cover is no problem, it can be removed and is very easy!

Store bought 5 gallon pails with leak proof lids from Home Depot. Great bucket for food storage. Went to open with my new tool. So on a scale of 1 to 10, my new discoverer would not have been up to the task. He pulled the edge up, but not far enough to work properly and didn't open the bucket lid to access it. Flat caps, thick teeth won't fit through. This only works if you remove the zip from the lid, rendering the lid unusable for prolonged reuse. If they made it out of metal it would work, but since they use cheap plastic they have to make it thick and thick so it doesn't break. Ptbt!
