Missing parts: Spare parts

Ordered two at a time. One was missing details and the other had the wrong details. It also doesn't work if you have an I-Beam frame.

Was too long with my 16 (move picture to sheet).

Was too long (frame to wing) on my 16ft trailer. The leaves are really short. I took that gear and the smallest Monroe shocks I could find. However, the handling has improved significantly.

A good set with a thick strap.

This kit worked well for my needs. Very thick steel brackets. You may need to trim the top brace a bit, but the universal kit will not fit. The dampers feel decent and the bushings look ok.

Pros
  • Good performance
Cons
  • Some flaws

The kit is good but

It will not work on trailers with an I-beam frame without additional work to install the top shock absorber to the frame. I need to do a thing or two: weld the plate to the frame rails to install the kit's top bracket, or make my own bracket. You can notch the frame or cut the steel shock absorber and that might work, I wouldn't recommend notching the trailer frame :-)

Pros
  • Absolutely Awesome!
Cons
  • Something else

No more influence. on Shocks, Struts & Suspension

This is not a project for a novice mechanic. You will most likely need to change brackets and dismantle the entire suspension of your trailer. I raised my single axle caravan by changing the drop axle to straight axle, upgraded the springs to 5000# and used this shock mounting kit. I modified and welded the brackets and also used screws. The result is amazing, the trailer drives so nice and smooth and the dampers help eliminate sway. I would definitely recommend this set if you have the serious

Pros
  • cool product
Cons
  • without machine gun

You have to figure it out without anything to customize to your vehicle.

Installation required a lot of planning and parts purchase. There were no instructions, and there weren't enough threads on the U-bolts to tighten the plate down without the 3.4-inch flat washers for the tension nuts on the axle. I had to heat and bend the mounting plate that attaches to the frame to get the angle of impact through the hole in the bracket. Vise and oxygen aceline for heating for bending. not easy. then remove paint residue with wire brushes and repaint strut.) Not tested yet…

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
