Incorrectly assembled! wasn't happy

As another reviewer noted, the assembly instructions are incorrect. It was assembled incorrectly and the instructions say so. I assume the house was wrongly stamped. In any case, you must install the holders in the holes opposite the holes indicated in the instructions, otherwise the stones will lie backwards. glazed hole.

A good tool is poorly assembled and packaged.

In addition to the disassembled one stone jumped. Couldn't believe they sent him to pieces. Even the lock nut and thrust washer were floating in the plastic housing. I suggest they at least show you how to put it together. And some bubble wrap to keep the pieces in place during shipping. My neighbor had to come and show me how it was supposed to be assembled by the manufacturer. He had one many years ago and didn't have this problem.

  • Hands-free operation

  • Null

Great tool for any size shop

Great tool for any size shop. A very good quality. The transport leaves a small defect that can be fixed if the instrument is properly packed in a plastic case. My item arrived ok but when I opened the box I noticed the stones were "loose" in the toolbox due to shipping and the lack of packing material. However, not a single stone was damaged and everything was fine. I have been a professional machinist and engine technician "all my life" and I can assure everyone that this tool is very well…

  • Ideal for outdoor activities

Great round honing!

Lisle makes great sharpeners. I have used the smaller model to finish hone the bushings on a lathe I have rebuilt and this hone to deglass the cylinders on a Cummins rebuild. It's basically the same mechanically as the equivalent solar sharpening. I prefer to use them dry as they can be used both ways, but the stones don't charge as much as dry ones. Just remember to give them a wire brush here and there to keep them clean when dry sanded. I was able to get the taper and ovality almost out of…

WOW! What a great tool!

WOW! This pretty much sums up the words needed to describe this tool. I bought this to sharpen the cylinders in a Ford Ranger 3.0 which I recently received. The previous owner drove hot. Very hot. Three pistons were melted and the cylinders had light burrs. I was able to easily remove .003 stock with this tool. We also make the cylinders right. The only complaint would be that the rocks seem to wear out quickly, but I took a fair bit of material out of the 3 cylinders and I still have enough…

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

Works (sort of), but poor quality and severe limitations.

For reference, I graduated from college as a professional motorcyclist and marine mechanic and have been doing small engine repairs and performance work for decades. So I know what I'm talking about. I own and regularly use thousands of dollars of hand and power tools. I bought a Lisle 15000 hard honing tool because I heard it could turn a cylinder to the next size, saving me the expense of going to a machine shop. So, is it really possible? In my experience, not for most engines. There were…
