I bought my first CamelBak about 20 years ago and *loved* it. Since then the products have evolved into these really cheap products. Everything seems flimsy and flimsy, and the seams just unravel. But it keeps the water on my back when I go camping so can't complain at all. If you ask me, CamelBak has increased its profit margins incredibly over the past 20 years by making cheaper and cheaper products for the same price. I think that's what you should expect from a company.

For now I've resigned myself to using this. it is: all water and no gear, no water and all gear, or half the water it contains and some select gear. This is a great backpack for long bike rides, especially here in hot Florida. After only 25 miles one way I easily drink the whole pack, then load up at a nice rest stop near the beach (they have a huge water cooler that anyone passing by can use) and then head back. 25 miles. For fountains in other places, I use my water bottle to draw water from the fountain and then pour it into the pack to recharge it that way.
