It seems securely attached to my backpack. I pulled on it a few times to see if it would fall and it kind of fell off and bent one of my pins :/ I clipped the pin to my pocket and it seems very secure, more so than if you do wouldn't have done it. don't attach anything, just put that on PS. I liked that it was easy for me to remove the back pins from the enameled pins.
