Waste of money. Bought to cover while cooking. The lid just slides off and the stand doesn't stay open. Also made in China, not in the USA.

What do you do when you take the lid off a hot Dutch Oven? Plant in the dirt? Rough. Wait a minute! It's embarrassing. NO, use this little gadget. Simple design, easy to use and no messy lids. It can also be used to lift a lid and works much better than single tongs. So buy 2. One for the lift and one for the lid. Highly recommended.

I bought this for my camp style fire pit lid. I also use it to store hot items that I remove from my Kamado grill when I need to reconfigure the setup. A little pricey for this item but what will you do if you don't have steel bar, rivet and bender. Works great for its intended purpose.

Ideal for attaching a lid to a fire bowl. It doesn't matter if the stand's lid wobbles while you stir stew or potatoes, or if you're leaning towards biscuits, bread or rolls. However, if you want to wet your cast iron skillet on a stand. The pan swings back and forth. Especially when stirring and turning scrambled eggs at camp. The design is compact and keeps the Dutch Oven's lid in place, but not suitable for other uses.

I love this product and I am very glad that I bought it. I don't use it to lift the lids of my dutch ovens as I have a special lid lifter for that. However, it is very useful for Dutch Oven Baking. The space allows you to bake without burning the floor. The first time I made bread and cakes the bottom burned even though I used the right amount of briquettes for the bottom (6). I took a star off this product because it claims to be used as a lid lifter. I can be used this way, but with conditions. First, if you have a large amount of coals on your stove, you really should wear a protective glove. The short length of the stand when used as a lift puts your hand very close to the coals.
