I would like to give this product a higher rating because after solving the problem below it is good value for money. Compared to other mat cutters, it has an affordable price and is capable of producing well-cut mats. Unfortunately, a component that probably cost the manufacturer less than a dollar lowered my estimate. I have cut several mats with this tool and I find it accurate, easy to use and inexpensive. The beveled cuts are really accurate and look professional with careful use. The bevel cutter itself runs along the unit and slides down the bevels without much effort and there is a very well calibrated parallel ruler to hold the mat in place for the bevel cut.
