Great microphone, although the receiver is a bit weak.

I bought this mic in January 2010 and ended up using it for over 5 years. I used this primarily for communication on my Windows 7 64-bit PC and the audio on the other end was crystal clear. I especially liked the fact that you can turn it off with the push of a button. The indicator light tells you whether it is on or not. I also liked that you can adjust the receiver up or down depending on where you need to point it. The length of the cable was also perfect. Unfortunately, all it took was a…

I recently purchased Dragon Naturally Speaking Home 11.5. I really liked it, but wasn't thrilled with the headset mic that came with the software. I decided to use a table microphone. After seeing this one and reading the good reviews, I bought it. This is a great microphone and I am very happy with it. The price was great. It works like a spell with a naturally speaking dragon. It is very well made and strong. It doesn't take up much room on my makeshift chart table. It's sensitive and picks…

Can be used for speech recognition

I bought this microphone as a headset replacement with Dragon NaturallySpeaking 11. The first shipment didn't fit so I exchanged it and hoped for the best. The replacement worked much better, so the original delivery was obviously defective. As for the voice recognition results, they're not quite on par with a decent headset, but can be quite comfortable. Constantly putting on and taking off the headset can cause headaches. It seems slower to respond and has slightly less accuracy than a…

Ideal for desktop recording and speech recognition Dragon

I used Creative sound cards and good quality headphones to get good enough sound quality for Dragon Naturally Speaking. The built-in audio is often not high enough for good results. A good aftermarket sound card from Creative Labs that sounds better than the built in can cost $50 to $100 or even a few hundred dollars. This simple, lightweight, and unobtrusive desktop microphone makes recording voice notes and Dragon dictation on your desk ridiculously easy. my office with the train passing by…

I originally bought this product for voice recording for video projects but it's not a very good mic for this type of work. Instead, I now use this mic for Skype calls and the like when I'm in a quiet environment. The mic is still way better than the built in unit in my laptop and even beats the overhead mic in my gaming headset when I feel like playing online games with friends. At the same time, this microphone has very weak protection. against background noise, so it's always a good idea to…

Incredible convenience and value for Dragon dictation in the office

I've recently started using Dragon NaturallySpeaking in the office to minimize typing and mouse use which causes tendinitis in mine wrists. I first tried the analog mic that came with the software and then a cheap USB mic. Both had a headset with a microphone sticking out on the side. While the speech recognition was fine with her, I found it incredibly uncomfortable and awkward to use because I work in an environment with a lot of distractions and because I often find myself having to move…

Worked great for me but not perfect.

I bought one of these a few years ago because I wasn't a fan of headsets at all and would rather just use the good speakers I had for my PC instead of a headset for chatting while gaming . Unfortunately, while the audio here was pretty good, even with the supposed noise cancellation and settings in Windows to prevent it, it still wasn't enough to prevent this mic from picking up sound from the speakers. This led to people complaining about the echo and audibility of my audio over voice…
