Description of πŸ–ŒοΈ Canvas Stretching Pliers by Looneng: Aluminum Alloy Clamp for Oil Painting Stretching

Made of solid metal with heavy duty spring return handles for trouble free stretching with less effort. Features large 43⁄4" wide perfectly mating jaws with rubberized inside grip to hold canvas firmly without marring the canvas surface. The pliers allow the artists to maintain a secure hold on the canvas and provide leverage against the stretcher bar for a tight stretch. Stretch canvas better, faster and with less effort, strong and durable, yet light enough to be held comfortably. Use these professional canvas stretching pliers for hand stretching of canvas over stretcher bars canvas frame.

Almost too big

I bought them to stretch canvases on rails for painting by numbers. I ended up using my hands as the canvas was too small to do a true gallery stretch (not the fault of those pliers). If you're stretching a 16" x 20" canvas, you'll probably be more comfortable using pliers with smaller jaws. For everything else, especially if you have at least three inches of extra canvas margins, these pliers will likely be used. I will keep them for future use.

Pros
  • Painting and painting supplies
Cons
  • Very expensive

Easy to use for beginners

I bought a 48" x 48" painting on a roll in China. Made a frame and used it to pull it up while I attached it to the frame. You showed me how to do it and the thing worked great. First of all adorable! There are no teeth to tear the canvas. Didn't have to pull hard but the canvas looks flat. I'm glad I bought these large toothless pliers. I had no problems with the nib and have grabbed this large canvas many times.

Pros
  • boards and canvas
Cons
  • I will write later

Great tool at a great price!

Well made at a good price! I've seen smaller ones than these retail for almost double the price at my local art supply store. I take an art class and needed a pair of pliers so I could sculpt canvases at home instead of in the classroom. It was the perfect choice! They made the job a lot easier. The handles are not very comfortable on their own, but are still nice and firm in the hand. If you are looking for stretch mark pliers, I would go for these!

Pros
  • Canvas tools and accessories
Cons
  • Something different
