Having discovered and tried this product a few months ago I threw away the balm that came with the shampoo. (Refined Oil) This works amazingly well with my waist length, regularly colored hair! Use only a cent amount. Got this at a big discount. Very soft non-sticky formula. It spreads easily in the hair, a very pleasant smell but not overpowering at all. I apply it to the hair after squeezing out most of the water, applying from mid-shaft to ends and then working it in (all products accumulate in your roots so I avoid most products directly there). I have very curly hair but my hair is also fine. Finding hair care products for this mixed hair type is not an easy task. Curly hair products are heavy and weigh down my hair, making it look and feel greasy. Fine hair products don't moisturize enough and make my hair frizzy and dry. I wish I could give this one a thousand stars! I have very dry, brittle hair. After drying, I look like I stuck my finger in the socket (remember Albert Einstein). They used to be very curly and then I turned gray (however I dyed them) and since then they've been unmanageable without heat. Until now. The transformation of my hair is amazing!
