Volvo Penta SX Alignment

The alignment tool worked great on the Volvo Penta SX. High quality and very durable. What was new to me was that the boat's motor mounts were low, which prevented the output shaft from going in. The tool allowed me to align the gimbal perfectly with the engine coupler.

Doesn't fit, is 0.030 " too big and needs to be taken to a workshop for repair

I had to remove the fork from the output gear and use it to align the motor. It would be nice if the tool was machined properly to the correct spec I should have adjusted the input shaft first then checked the machine spec of the tool to be installed if it is not in the specs ASK before purchasing

Quality Tools - Tool Kits

This tool is a solid steel tool. I hope I only have to use it once, but if I have to, that bad boy should be around longer than me. Used to align the gimbal with the engine coupler, it's almost a sure check of your work. Be careful not to drop it on your foot or summer water ski season will be over before it even starts.
