Safe, but use with caution!

Very nice design. It's something that won't deter a thief from stealing your item, but it will definitely deter those who aren't ready. It will definitely take time to break it with a small knife. I used it to tie my canopy when I went on a 500 mile trip and it held up pretty well. Only the overhanging metal strip at the end of the belt has to be considered. I had to cut off the strips of wire sticking out at the end of the strap with diagonal wire cutters. Otherwise the product works great!

After they were found to work

Mine came with no instructions and just a set of keys. I like to have an extra set of keys in case one gets lost and the locks were supposed to come with two sets of keys (and instructions) but that didn't happen. The people at Revain were kind enough to explain how to use them so that I could become familiar with them. I'll try picking the lock to see if I can make copies of the keys. Considering the cost of these locks they should have come with two sets of keys and instructions as…

Increased safety and durability

I use these lockable ties as a little travel and vacation insurance for my kayaks. They would be pretty easy to defeat for a trained enemy! But a great deterrent to slow or stop theft. They were in my trailer through July and most of August as I camped non-stop at lakeside campgrounds. They're a bit stiff when tightened, but that's to be expected since they contain wire. Ease of use and added security when I'm on the move, sleeping or traveling with kayaks on a trailer. I will probably buy more
