DC motor fans save significant energy. We tend to leave fans on whenever we're home and appreciate the savings. This fan is very quiet and has a neat wall switch to control all functions including 6 speeds and reverse. This moves a huge volume of air and thanks to this we can set our thermostat higher. This is our 5th Emerson DC fan and I will not buy any other brand fan. We have two fans that are 10 years old and work like new.
