Lumitec Aurora 101076: Dimmable White/Red Dome Light - Enhanced Size & Output Review

Lumitec make great products. This is their replacement for the traditional red and white blanket. Works/fits/installs perfectly.

These are good surface mount lights. Waterproof as it is switched and controlled by a framed magnet acting on a sensor in the fully sealed fixture. Decent light output. Very good.

Works as advertised and its low profile is a big improvement over the old style wall hanger gimbals. A word of caution: it's tricky to install as there's very little space in the back for wiring. . My old 16 gauge wiring is fixed in the bulkhead. It took some time to sort through the old wiring, but it was still possible to solder and coat the connections.

Replace the old fashioned 5 inch dome with this one. I wasn't sure if it would be good enough but I was pleasantly surprised. More light output from a smaller device. No switch to go bad or flicker like my old overhead light. Excellent dimming function for red and white. The color of white light is neither warm nor cold bluish. It's kind of right in the middle and actually pretty much right on. Highly recommended.
