Thought I'd try the shape since I like Onigiri by hand, and found them a bit messy. It is so easy. Cook short-grain rice, choose toppings. You'll get used to how much you can use for molds and how much filling you put in. I only have one bowl on hand to dip into the mold between each onigiri, then sprinkle salt on each side of the mold, then fill half with rice, add toppings, then fill the other half with rice, then press the mold down . Apparently I bought these molds to make Onigiri. Other reviews said they were small molds but I figured I'd buy them anyway for the price. They work as intended and are fairly easy to use. Although they are definitely small. I made quite large onigiri with my (relatively small female) hands, but I didn't want to burn myself anymore.
