Works best on stage and in the studio Cable

Bought a Lyx Pro suspension bar and was impressed with the quality. Do you need that right angle XLR, I mean most consumer use XLR cables are pretty standard and consumer cables in general until you get to the really specialized stuff. This is no exception, it does the job just like an XLR cable. I bought because I used to buy Lyx Pro branded products so I guess it's the customer loyalty. This right angle XLR cable is used with a Samson Q9U on a Rode PSA1 desktop wand, the cable fits well and…

Good cables for live sound and stage

To legitimize my review I've been a weekend warrior, musician and audio engineer for over 30 years. I also have high end cables (Mogami, Belden etc) and make my own using Neutrik parts. So I know what good and bad cables are. Still, these cables are great for everyday use. The sound quality is good, the construction is good, the connectors are solid, they are more flexible than most other cables and very reasonably priced. The main reason I bought these cables is that I was able to buy cables…

terrible for performing - stage and studio cables

I'm performing. I don't use them in my home studio. I have 5 of these: 2 green (one 30ft, one 15ft), 1 red (30ft), 1 yellow (30ft) and 1 blue (30ft). You sound good. The sound is not the reason for my rating. I've learned that they're great for the home studio where you need to troubleshoot from time to time or have people come and go just to hook up your fully configured system. It's terrible for concerts. Every time I tune I unwind the cables that I carefully coiled up after the last gig. I…

If I need XLR cables in the future I'll buy Lyx Pro

Over the years I've used tons of XLR cables from well known brands like Whirlwind and Peavey. I've also used a couple of unnamed generic XLRs, as has everyone else who has run into a cable issue. Before I pick up this Lyx Pro cable, I want to tell you that the Peavey cables were the best I've ever used. Now that I've used this cable, I'm not sure. First I connected the cables to the various microphones. Regardless of which mic I tried, the connectors felt *very* solid and didn't wobble at all…

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Zero

We had 20ft and 25ft XLR cables for our 4 mic system, but we really only needed about 6ft. They were perfect: 6 feet including connectors. They are difficult to confuse as the shell provides flexibility. The first orange cable we received had snapped in places - bare wires were exposed - and the connectors looked like they had been hit by a truck. We received a perfect replacement delivery. Also, all these cables are packed in a ziplock plastic bag. But the first bad ones were missing a bag. I…

  • 1 year trial

High performance professional cord but red is orange

I ordered several of these cords because they were red and I was disappointed when they were different. As the other review says "faded bean color", it's like a reddish brown/orange (see pic). This might not be a big deal to some, but I set up a color scheme in the studio and my OCD is starting to scream. As for the cable, I like the black metal connectors and the cable's solid feel. They have gold plated contacts while others look and feel like tin. They feel heavy due to the inner cotton…

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • No color required

So these are great cables absolutely everything is fine with them great sound quality and a very reasonable price. My absolute favorite is probably another company, but they cost at least four times as much and have fewer XLR options. So if you are absolutely on a budget look no further, I doubt anyone will notice the difference. Like every Lyx XLR cable I've used, they're clearly well insulated but not overly stiff (although that can sometimes be a bad thing, only if you don't know you need to

  • Great selection
