Mackerel - Great product - Would recommend!

Mackerel is a very simple tool to use. It's easy to set up, easy to use, and has a lot of features. It's very easy to get started with and the documentation is very good. I've used it for a few years now and have been very pleased with the tool. It's not the cheapest tool out there, but it's worth it. I would say that the support is very good. I've never had to wait more than a few hours for an answer and the support team is very responsive. I've used Mackerel for monitoring my servers. It's…

Pros
  • Highly configurable
  • Reliable configuration file parser (i like this)
  • Easy setup via puppet or chef templates
  • Documentation covers most functionality in depth.
  • Good community forum & slack channel as well
Cons
  • There are troubles

Great tool that takes the hassle out of managing tools

The simplicity of this tool allows me to be more productive with my development team, allowing them to focus their time on adding value instead of managing tools. I also love how easy it is for anyone in our organisation to use. It’s not always obvious what features are available when you first sign up - so keep that in mind if your users aren’t familiar with the product yet! We don’t have any blockers at present but we do get questions about scaling/performance occasionally. If those issues…

Pros
  • Ease Of Use (for employees)Integration into services such Spotify & Slack
Cons
  • Limited amount data storage per user

Great way to keep track of server statistics

I like that you can monitor different servers at once, it's easy to add new ones when necessary (or delete them if they are not needed). It has an interface for quick lookups of metrics but sometimes there isn't any information about some fields so I have no idea what those values mean (sometimes this happens even with simple graphs, which makes me think something wrong happened in their web service or API - maybe because data was missing?). That doesn't happen often though since most times…

Pros
  • Easy configuration
  • Can be run locally via docker containers.
  • Flexibility is high due both GUI based configurability & CLI commands available
Cons
  • Documentation could include more explanations.
  • Sometimes server performance suffers after changes were made
