Bought these to hang Christmas lights around my husband's toolbox at work. Put painter's tape on the magnets to avoid scratching them. Very strong and shows no signs of movement after more than a month of use. They also worked surprisingly well for hanging garlands. Very impressive.

Third holidays to use these: Christmas, Halloween and Christmas. You persevered. on the other hand, it moves faster. Then attaching and detaching to the metal roof is so quick and easy. I do a happy dance. Note: I don't have gutters.

I have many clients with metal roofs. I thought this would be a great way to roof mount c7/e12 base lights without adding hooks or clips. Although they are strong enough to hold a string of lights horizontally or vertically. The clasp that actually holds the Spt wire isn't big enough to hold the Spt 2 wire like they claim. A few clips broke immediately. Others broke overnight. These clamps can hold the SPT-2 wire better. Be careful before you choose them.

The magnets worked fantastic! They are glued to the metal roof. A tip I would give before buying is to test the fridge magnet on the spot you intend to use it (if it sticks it will work, if not it won't work like aluminum). Deducted 1 star for the small stress cracks in the mechanism holding the bulbs in place. I don't know how long these will last. But they are pretty amazing and strong. They were fun to put on the roof and I quickly set them all up. The only part that took time was installing

They look great, magnet seems good, cable clip grooves look good. But after I cut one off each of the 50 lanterns, 10 fell off trying to hang them. We have a higher roofline so we wanted something that could be carried with a pole rather than climbing onto the roof. A second attempt to reattach them (after reattaching 10 that had fallen) resulted in 5 bulbs lighting up, and then the weight of the rest of the filament ripped them off immediately.
