After 20 days of use, every sixth is I.

After 20 days of use, one of the six devices ordered no longer worked. The 1 in 6 bounce rate is 16.66% in the first 30 days. Why do they still include SATA cables when everyone uses 6-pin connectors for sure? Waste SATA ports are updated when another error occurs

Pros
  • Not cheap, but decent
Cons
  • Infinitely sluggish

Would have given 5 stars if all 6 risers worked

Decided to buy Mintcell brand risers to try. Unfortunately 1 out of 6 arrived dead on arrival. The map is not published at all. All connections were quadruple tested and we tried the faulty adapter in a single GPU setup where all other components were known to work. Aggravating.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Protection

Exactly what the doctor ordered!

These riser cards appear to be well made and have a more integrated 6 pin PCI-E connector instead of the old 4 pin Molex junk from the 90's. I'll update this once I get my mining rig together and see what it does, but overall they seem well made. No crappy solder, no loose SMDs and the cables are good quality too. More importantly, 6-pin PCI-E SATA cables have the same SEGMENT of wires as my PSU, so I know the wire doesn't over-current and therefore shouldn't overheat.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Approximately

Questionable quality control but excellent customer service.

Edit 12/26/2017. The seller quickly refunded two broken straps, so the rating was changed to 5 stars for very good customer service. 2 out of 6 causes three separate reference and non-reference Vega 64 cards in my setup to reliably fail (changed registration and pulled 160 watts from wall to card) when connected to the EVGA 1000 G3 6-pin PCIe connector connected to the riser. The other 4 work without problems. Sata is not used in my case as they only have a max current of 4.5 amps and so could…

Pros
  • Something above
Cons
  • Minor issues
