So use it in a dark room and clean it everywhere and it will tell you if there is any stain, sticky substance or residue of any kind to clean, and after cleaning it, clean it next Tag again See if your product worked...when you get a product that cleans really well, you won't see the stain anymore. PS: Definitely wear glasses! They help you see things not normally visible to the naked eye and this wand is SO BRIGHT that protecting your eyes is a must.

Works in the dark but not on dark colored carpets. I was shocked when I got to my favorite rug and found 12 piss spots. Luckily my dog is small. He's a lifeguard and 3 years old so I'm still trying to teach him to pee outside. I found him lying on his mat and then getting up and urinating on his corner and then lying down again and I sat right next to him! I've washed the rug and want to make sure he's learning, but his rug is dark so the light doesn't really help me unless I buy a white rug.
