I use this sander after planing chainsaw-cut hardwood to get it smooth and ready for finishing. I went through many, many pieces of this raw wood before running the edger too many times. While sharpening my teeth with the Makita sanding belt that came with my sander, I must have made dozens of mistakes while learning how to most efficiently sand wood. Now that I've lent a hand, I ordered this box of 120 grit sanding belts to finally finish my job.

Makita is the only sanding belt I've found that does more than just add a strip of belt on the inside and allows each end of the belt to barely meet in the middle. Unlike belts from other well-known brands, the Makita belt actually has a directional arrow that matches the belt sander. And the ends are overlapped so they won't snag, snap or fly after a few turns on the grinder. MAKITA MAKITA MAKITA. I was incredibly impressed with this product compared to what I originally used which was Craftsman brand sandpaper. There was premature belt failure with Craftsman brand sandpaper, and when I tried to remove the paint the belts seemed to get so hard they would just melt the paint after a few minutes.
