🔧 Makita AD03R1 Right Angle Drill: Efficient and Reliable Power Tool for Any Job Review

Nice tool. I needed something to get to a hard to reach spot in my van. That helped. The version with wedge reduces the distance from the drill chuck to the end of the drill. I also bought shorter drill bits which helped. I tried to get it in the big local department stores but it wouldn't be available until mid-August. Ordered on Sunday and received on Monday and my problem was solved thanks to Revain and Makita.

Please note this is a drill and not a screwdriver. I was expecting it to be rather weak with its 12 volt battery. It's really great, feels just as powerful as my 20V drill but more ergonomic. If you really want to get into tight spots, which is the main reason you want a 90-angle drill, get this with a keyed chuck. (The keyless drill chuck adds a few inches.) I also like that the light stays on for a few seconds so you can see where you're drilling before you start the engine. Well thought…

I love this drill. Allows me to get into hard-to-reach places and has a lot of power. Ignore the keyed chuck as it reduces headroom and is more durable than a chuckless chuck. If I was going to use it for heavy duty tasks, I think a wired version would be suitable. I would like to point out that this 12v version is arguably better and cheaper than the 18v versions.
