without variable clutch

all good and good. as advertised. very low profile. Be careful though, this model does not have a variable torque clutch. it is good for drilling. less good for driving screws as it always applies full torque and eventually damages the screw head.

Pros
  • very good price-performance ratio
Cons
  • exorbitant price

Most compact, superior torque and speed control

Fast 1/4-20 drilling and tapping in 7ga steel. Yes, the tap is also hammered into the drill. For maximum latitude you need a key chuck. Fits perfectly between balustrades. The Chuck Key's crossbar is too small for repeated use, but it can be adjusted or replaced, and the rotary switch is a little fiddly, but it's a powerful four-star tool. Fast EDC for architectural metalwork.

Pros
  • One-year trial
Cons
  • Available in white only

You MUST use a drill with a chuck wrench if you want the best results in close quarters combat. Drills are now made in communist China. It's very convenient to have a drill that doesn't require a chuck wrench, but it adds about 1.5 inches to the length of the drill. Overall I'm happy, but Makita often asks for a lot of different chargers, so be careful and make sure you have the right drill battery charger to charge batteries for that drill. I had to buy a separate 12V charger.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • A dubious purchase for the elderly
