feels lighter than others and has rubber grips to keep it from slipping on the roof. It has slightly more recoil than the others but is still in phase pause. so far it has worked flawlessly and accurately

Frustrating Nailer

Lots of duplicate lights, multiple breaks to fix bad feed and dropped nails, lots of blanks and lots of crooked lights which was wasteful and my damaged shingles . At first I thought it was just my technique, but even a second person couldn't get the nailing tool to work reliably using quality 3/4" nails. I tried to love it, but I just couldn't. Pros
  • Easy one step opening Adjustable canister system for faster and more accurate nail loading
Cons
  • Expensive

very much, I think the belt hook with tool is a great bonus. Looks cool and doesn't slide much on the roof but crooked nails and as in another test very uneven nails. Chipouts and hammer hits put this Makita 454 on the not-so-great list. I've spent a lot of time making pressure and depth adjustments, but it's finicky about how hard it is to type. I chose Metabo and am very satisfied. 3 Bostitch 46-1 nailers didn't work, but 1 was better than Makita. I went back and forth with theโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Lightweight design only 5.2 lbs.
Cons
  • boring packaging I like the look of
