Very good portable tripod!

Very good portable tripod! I have a full size Manfrotto but bought it for paddling/camping where mobility is more important. Packs easily into the included storage bag and works great with the ball head. I miss some of the tripod settings available with my full-size device for macro photography and other more demanding shooting situations, but it's good enough for most photos.

Cons

High-quality, well-made tripod

High-quality, well-made tripod. Fits well in the back of my photo backpack. Quick release leg extensions allow for quick installation. The ball head is strong enough to hold my full frame 12-24mm, 24-70mm DSLR or if I put my backpack on the center post hook I can do without my 70-200mm. Very similar to the Manfrotto quick release plate I have on my Feisol carbon fiber studio tripod. Recommended as a travel tripod.

Brilliant work Manfrotto

I needed a good lightweight tripod for my recent trip to Yosemite and Sequoia National Parks. The tripod worked and was great. While it could never replace a larger, more specialized tripod, its weight, compact size and good quality made it a joy to use and carry around in a backpack. I noticed that some of the reviews mention gobies. It could be better, but there's a trade-off for size and compactness. Personally, my expectations were exceeded.

Good travel tripod but wrong color

This is a good tripod. I ordered red and got grey. I had to use it right away so I didn't have time to go back to change the color. It's easy to use, lightweight and fits in your travel suitcase. I like the quick release, it snaps in and out easily. The only thing I would like is for the head to be easier to tilt and turn. There is a knob that needs to be loosened, then moved, and then tightened again. If you're moving around with a tripod and photographing something as it unfolds, it's a bit…

excellent equipment

my god, excellent equipment. I am a regular Manfrotto customer and have several of their high performance tripods but have not been able to take them on holiday. Finding something that is not only strong, but light and compact, but at the same time not cheap junk seemed almost impossible to me. Even as a Manfrotto lover, I was sure this would be an inevitable disappointment. I even thought it was a cheap product that Manfrotto just put its name on. Well obviously I was very impressed with what…
