Originally chose this option because of the foldable legs for use with a camcorder. Also, when the monopod is placed on a flat surface, it will tilt even when it is folded. Tightening the leg nuts didn't help. They ended up replacing it with a Benro monopod. Much more stable.

I returned it after using it for a few weeks and just ordered Sirui. The legs have too much play for me to be sure they're holding my camera. Also, the 4-piece version doesn't fit in carry-on luggage, but I believe the 5-piece version will. It was a solid monopod, but the legs had too much play.

I added my own Manfrotto video head. Overall this is a really great addition to my camera support inventory! Smooth action thanks to the built-in head in the base. In addition I had a Zacuto Baseplate, gh4 with Speed Booster and Sigma 18-35 Art Lens, smallHD 702 Bright, Rode Video Pro Microphone and Heavy Duty Follow Focus. . Overall, the installation was quite difficult, but held up great!

Following the quality tradition of every other Manfrotto product. This will most likely last a lifetime. (I have a Manfrotto silver aluminum tripod that is over 30 years old and sturdy lightweight tripods that still work. I expect the same from this monopod. It's big enough to see through crowds and requires a bit Balance to stand alone with liquid video head.included.And above all, the price is right.

Definitely a great stand and very compact. I personally shoot real estate photos and it's great to get into the corner of a room. The only downside is that it doesn't support my camera unless I'm holding the stand myself, which I think might be due to the weight of my camera. The legs feel weak and the base moves slightly. This is my GO TO Tri/Mono pod not only for my Sony 4K camcorder but also for my regular Canon camera. It stands fairly well at three feet when folded, even when extended, and stretches to a very good length. The quality is excellent too, just what you would expect from Manfrotto.
