Great addition to your 450 Pro

What a simple idea. It also works perfectly. Adding a MarineLand ML EMP 450/PGUIN 375 Foam Filter 12/1 CT Foam Pre-Filter (Model: AQ-78309) will really improve the performance of your 450 Pro. e-filter too.

Doesn't work for me.

Unfortunately I bought 3 of them. They don't seem to filter out small and subtle things. The tank is still cloudy after 3:00 p.m. and has not changed at all. I've used 2 in a row now and have another one to use tonight. I'm assuming it's not meant for fine cleaning. I have tested my water 3 times and it is perfect. I think the cloudiness is due to the extra food the fish didn't eat so the next step would be a water change as that didn't help.

Why does the plastic rubber melt at the top and bottom? It contaminated my 55 gallon tank. The fish doesn't seem to care, but it's disgusting and getting agitated! IT IS SAD! THIS HAPPENS IF LESS THAN 24 HOURS OF USE. I can't believe I bought 5 of these. SO I CAN REPLACE THEM REGULARLY. FILTRATION IS GOOD BUT THE RUBBER BLUE TOP AND BOTTOM SHOULD GO BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD. DISCOVER! SO I GIVE THIS PRODUCT 1 STAR!

BE CAREFUL! in Fish & Aquatic Pets

DO NOT FOLLOW enclosed "cleaning" instructions! They recommend soaking the device in a 9:1 bleach solution for 24 hours. As a precaution I used a 10:1 solution, after 24 hours when I reached into the container to rinse the filter all the rubber parts had melted. In fact, they melted so much that the gum stuck to my fingers and it was even impossible to wash it off. It's a shame, because the filter has polished my aquarium water well. However, in my experience, it cannot be cleaned and reused…

Clogged in less than 24 hours

This filter works great! But he lives less than 24 hours! In less than 24 hours, it was so clogged that it swelled up like a watermelon. My aquarium was NOT that cloudy or dirty. I just wanted something that would give my filter an extra boost to get my water crystal clear, which happened. But after about 24 hours I noticed that there was no more filtering.
