This battery is cheap but as long as you are careful not to damage the screws you will be fine. I read someone else did it so I was careful. It works great and I will use it about half the time I use a sound machine. It should last 40 hours but I haven't used it that much yet. Would I buy again? Yes, but I still wish the sound machine had a built-in rechargeable battery or a higher quality battery.
