Great flashlight - bad condition

I needed a flashlight to make several hundred heat shrink connectors. I decided to buy one with a stand to save time. The good news about this flashlight is that once you get used to the flashlight itself, you're pretty good at using the auto-trigger. The trigger was a bit confusing at first, but once you play around with it, you'll love this feature. My biggest problem is the stand. It then only lit once, had an 8" flame, and didn't go out when I released the trigger (and no, the flame arrestor wasn't on). I've tried several times adding more liquid or lighting it when there might still be liquid in it and nothing seems to work. Not only…

A good flashlight is not such a good soldering iron.

This is a great little flashlight. I keep it in my tool bag and use it often. It's great for quickly starting a fire, putting out food, soldering the ends of wires, etc. I also often use a heat gun attachment to activate heat shrink tubing on spliced electrical wires. The most surprising thing about this is the burn time - it may not be the advertised 2 hours, but it's over an hour and is quite impressive. I wish I could say that the soldering iron works as well as the hair dryer or heat gun…
