I have used these rubber stoppers on elastic cords for face masks. I used 1/4" elastic and these stoppers were perfect. I have found that the inner diameter of the stoppers is small enough to hold the elastic in place until you put enough tension on the elastic to stop the elastic good thing BUT the inside diameter is so small I had to use a tool called a "loop-turner" to thread the rubber band through the hole in the first place.

I've made masks with 1/8" elastic. The elastic goes through the hole but also just slips out with some pressure. Others say you should tie a knot in the elastic when the elastic slipping out of the end. This will work, but then there's no point in using a cable lock. The intent was to have some fine adjustments on masks for people who don't have the dexterity to untie knots. Recommended for larger elastics. than 1/8" (3mm) or in combination with other works. So far these cord locks are amazing! I read many reviews and hesitated to place an order. I have several masks that are too big/loose and need to adjust the ear loops to fit properly. Due to an allergy to latex, most of my masks have ear loops made from the same fabric as the mask, making them slightly thicker than a traditional elastic mask.
