I bought three of these because of the price. The first was DOA and the seller exchanged it for a 'good' one. which then failed before the end of three weeks. It had failed before and due to a quick replacement of the first one I bought another and this one is still working although it has been less than a week so far. I was a little hesitant to purchase this product after others reported their installation difficulties. I installed it and got it up and running in less than 15 minutes. The hard drive was recognized immediately. In the short time I've had it I haven't had any problems. I only use this to backup large files. My SDD is the primary drive. I recommend this product and will buy it again if needed.

The only reason for this rating is probably to neutralize some of the negative reviews. These reviews almost convinced me not to buy this hard drive. My experience so far has been good, so I gave it a try anyway. I'm glad I did. As before, the hard drive arrived on time and well packaged. (It was good because of the arduous journey to get here.) It was a simple setup and worked great.

Dead on arrival. Emailed the company and they didn't seem surprised and offered them a refund on return (prepaid refund). Strangely, no replacement was offered.

Bought to replace a dead hard drive. Works perfectly. Easy to fix. Note: The hard drive failed on 8/31/20. Took 6 months. The technician said the unit was used (not new). Do not buy. Paid $40 for technical services. save your money
