The basics: The sock compresses. The padding is not excessive in the sole. The padding in the sole (as advertised) does not cause discomfort (sweat and/or slippage) when worn and is actually not very noticeable. The sock does appear to vent well.I wear these for work (on my feet all day and constantly moving and crawling) and so far they have performed well. My socks smelled so bad after taking them off they would stink up the entire laundry room. After three weeks using these socks I have not had the same issue. Hopefully that effect will continue for a long time to come. I will try to update periodically on how long they last.

The best of three brands I have tried. They really concentrate on my foot and don't strangle my calf. They fit me fairly well but I do roll the top down one layer as they are a bit tall for me unless I have a lot of inflammation in my foot; this doesn't create added pressure on the calf. These are fantastic. I purchased these to run in the Chicago Spartan Super 2015. They stayed up the entire time. I completely forgot that I was wearing them. My legs felt fresh for all 8 miles and 25+ obstacles. I like these socks very much, but it is so hard to order the correct size that I gave them 4 stars. I have 5 pairs, but only one pair fits good. When I ordered them I got frustrated because there are so many to pick from and sizes are hard to figure out on the these webpages. I'm short and I got one pr of medium and 4 prs. of tall. the problem is when you go to put them on. If I had to do it over I would go in a store where you could ask questions and buy them.
