Fits perfectly, works as expected, 1 minute to install.

I couldn't compress or stretch it by hand and thought I had a defective one. But with some doubts, I installed it anyway and it works great. To remove the old one, remove the metal clips from it. There is no need to remove them from the new piece, just snap them into place.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Useless features

Works exactly as intended but difficult to install

Fits perfectly on my Solara 06 toy. Once received it went in with no problems. It works great and there are no complaints other than the lack of instructions on the R&R. Provide the correct instructions and you get 5 stars instead of 4.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Some problems

Perfect replacement for 2004 Toyota Solara SLE V6 Coupe

Installed this in my 2004 Toyota Solara SLE V6 coupe today. As others have pointed out, the only part that can be tricky if you've never done this before is undoing those latches to remove the old rack. I followed the other recommendations of moving the clip up instead of out and it worked great. The new post is then simply snapped on at both ends. No need to mess around with clips.

Pros
  • Best in Niche
Cons
  • The list will be long.

Not so easy to install

The stand is very nice but not so easy to install. As soon as I took the old one out I saw how it should move, but it looks like the Toyota store has a special tool to pry out the metal strap that holds the end of the strut to the ball attached to the car. I was able to use a screwdriver to pry the tape to release the ball and then tap the new tape to grab the ball. The new part is very similar to the original and works very well.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Crumpled

Perfect replacement for my 2008 Solara, easy install

My 2008 Solara's gas spring was out of gas and I was tired of holding the broomstick to keep it open. necessary. I was concerned that installation might be difficult, but my fears were unfounded. Dismantling an old elevator can be difficult if you've never done it before. It's best to have someone who can hold up the hood help you, or just use a broomstick. The trick to removing an existing lift is that both ends are held securely in place by a steel clamp that must be pulled before they can be

Pros
  • Tons of positive vibes
Cons
  • Piggy bank price
