Use this hood with maxxfan plus 4500k. Works well, but the lid doesn't open all the way. It opens about 3/4 of the way, pushing the hood all the way to the current limit. The witch suits me. I don't think it's going to hurt because even without the hood, what stops the lid when it's fully open or closed is the current limit anyway. There's also no noticeable difference in airflow when the lid is 3/4 or all the way open.

If you have a new motorhome it only has 4 clips and you're done. I have a 2020 caravan and it took 5 minutes to install. The 4000 Maxxfan requires a custom rain cover to fit over the base ears. This cover works like a charm. Inserting the grill into the snap mounts is a little tricky. The tabs did not line up with the snap slots on the hood after unfolding. Using a flathead screwdriver, gently pry up on the mesh tab to align the tab with the slot in the panel and it snaps into place. I have installed several vent covers over the years. I usually buy Maxxair because of their warranty. We just installed a new fan in our bathroom. The old cover didn't fit so I ordered this to keep the rain out. I have a factory Maxx fan in our van. Despite being a powerful version with an automatic opener and rain sensor, it doesn't come with pre-installed mounting tabs. But I did find that it has 8 pre-drilled holes that will fit the included metal Fanmate mounting brackets. Just pull out the little plastic tabs and screw in the brackets.
