The hard shell case was easy to install and provided the perfect amount of protection for my new MacBook Air. According to my experience, it didn't add any extra weight and fit perfectly. It fits my 9300 perfectly and although it leaves fingerprints/smudges as others have mentioned it's not a problem for me. About 50% of the cooling vents on the bottom are covered. I've seen others comment on this and some have solved this problem by removing some of the excess plastic covering the vents. I'm sure it will work.
