World Cord Cutters, Untie (See what I made there?)

This device is required to connect multimedia devices that may have incompatible connectors on the cable ends. Mine goes from the coax cable on the back of my Blu-ray player to my HD antenna, which requires an extension cable to connect. into the window. The signal is clear and the fittings are tight. The greatest feeling of this is the smug satisfaction that comes from cutting the cord.

Pros
  • Offers quality return and insertion loss performance over standard F81 connectors.
Cons
  • Small parts

Just traded in my gateway (router) for the latest Xfi in the Comcast store. Had to go back to return the old one and while there I asked for an extra length of coax to extend the existing cable running through the wall. Wanted to place the gateway in a more open area than it was. When I got home and unwound the extra cable, I found that it had pin ends on either side. uhh! Couldn't use it (the existing cord has a plug). Instead of going back to Comcast, ordered these female cable glands! TA…

Pros
  • The 3GHz connectors are made of nickel plated brass for durability and their low profile size adds only 1.02 inches to the length of the high frequency cable.
Cons
  • Doubtful

Connect one cable before the other. Now you have a longer cable!

serious review; Pun intentional: Here's the situation: you want to connect a cable to your TV, but it's quite a long way away. They have a lot of coax cables but they are not long enough to reach the pipe. Solution? 2 F-pin connectors; Barrel connectors, barrel connectors, call them what you will. They are really reliable as they have 3GHz connectors, are weatherproof, nickel plated brass and have high return/insertion loss quality. You lose the signal if you keep plugging those coax cables all

Pros
  • Fits most F-Type plugs and indoor/outdoor wall plates.
Cons
  • add later
