Description of πŸ”§ Meihejia Mortise Chisel Square Drill Set

Professional wood mortise chisel bit set for square holes. Includes 4 sizes: 1/4, 5/16, 3/8, 1/2 inch (6.35, 7.94, 9.5, 12.7mm). Fits all mortising machines such as PowerMatic Mortiser etc. Note: If use it on drill press, it needed a Mortise Attachment (Not Included). The mortise chisel bit set worked well in making mortise, even the harder materials such as white & red oak. One-time drilling a square hole, and the broken slag dust can be discharged from the tube. Made of high-speed steel, heat treatment, high hardness, lengthened core, high concentricity.

Doesn't work like I thought.

What I didn't like as far as I can tell they only work with a drill press not a regular hand drill. There weren't any written instructions for the items, so I don't know exactly how they're supposed to work. I know they have to make a square cut in the tree. Let's just say it doesn't work the way I expected it to

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons

Looked great.

They looked great. They were sharp and seemed quite heavy. My problem is that the slotting tool I bought only fits a 5/8" bit shank. It was a 3/4" or 19mm bit shank. I was going to let them and drill out the nozzle's pin, but drilling in cast iron sucks. Make sure you select the correct bit shank size.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Incredible piggy bank

Most likely, this purchase is a mistake.

This is crap. They must be sanded by hand. Possibly a blind toolmaker. Expect a job to get them cutting. If you need smaller holes this is for you, initially out of shape, I didn't use it until I've spent a few hours. I guess I'll use them by hand, at least I can finish with a chisel. . If you don't know how to sharpen one of these, you'll get plenty of practice. Good luck, it's better to find one from a manufacturer that has a square or even just eyes in the store.

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • Boring packaging

Just looked at the 2 chisel sizes I received

Sometimes I wonder what people think when they write reviews. I'm seeing a few 1-2 star reviews on these "push in" bits that clearly have no idea what (or how) they're used for. on a slotting machine or on a drill with slotting device! I'm still trying to figure out how some reviewers thought they could install them without flush mounting. The picture clearly shows that there's a bit and a chisel, so I'm a bit overwhelmed with how or where with Jacob's standard chucks a person might find that…

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Available in white only
