For some reason the 5th gen is a black hole when it comes to buying a stylus. I originally bought a rechargeable capacitive pen, but it wasn't good at drawing straight lines. At first I blamed the stylus, but after trying it on my wife's 7th gen iPad, I realized it was an iPad and not a stylus. This pen works much better. Did not work at all with HP Specter X360. The fiber tip works, albeit not perfectly, and the disc tip doesn't respond well to the screen, missing so much that it basically writes imprecisely. EDIT: I have found that with some nose lube applied to the disc the needle to screen contact becomes perfect. No more passports for me! Thanks to my 16 year old son for pointing out this little trick to me! If you're having trouble skipping, wipe the screen and put some skin oil on the disc and you're good to go.
