Teen use. You love working with him. Wooden scratching tools will not work. We use metal tips commonly used for pen and ink. They work fine. The sheets resemble heavy paper rather than cardboard and are easy to cut with scissors or a paper cutter. The sheets tend to bunch up, but that wasn't a big problem.

Rating based on shipping damage only. I love these boards but when I bought them they came packaged in plastic packaging which was too small and caused the boards to warp. I've had them for 2 weeks now and even after putting book after book on them they are still very warped. This makes them really difficult to use. Definitely recommend either ordering through a real art supply store or going to a brick and mortar store to get this product. So disappointing.

I bought this scratchboard pack after seeing the beautiful alpaca my daughter made at school. Funnily enough, I didn't even know scratching boards existed until that day.
