🧸 Snowman Stacker Wooden Toddler Toy by Melissa & Doug (8 pieces) Review

I gave this to my 2.5 year old in December this year so he can enjoy Christmas. Like all Melissa & Doug toys, this little snowman shelf is very well made! It's actually a lot bigger than I imagined (not HUGE, but a perfect size stacker). He's been really into montage and montage lately so this should be a hit! It will be an adorable gift for kids! Found this fantastic toy after a row and major frustrations for our 2 year old with not being able to build a snowman. It saved the day! It looked like a balance toy (I think I didn't read the description carefully enough) and I was thrilled to realize it was a ring toy. Definitely reduces frustration. She's styled it in a variety of ways and loved it every time. Hard paint on wood. Will be a great toy/decoration for years to come.

My 2.5 year old son loves building things and he loves snowmen so you can imagine this toy became his favorite toy straight away. This is a smart little toy! It attracts all grandchildren. I bought it thinking of 2 year olds who love to stack toys on top of each other, but it's a lot harder to put the pieces together in a specific way so that they fit together and coordinate the functions. It was great for our 4 year old. The younger ones just stacked the rings in some old order and didn't look upset that they hadn't made a snowman. My kids 1, 3 and 7 love it. It's after Christmas and they're still playing with it. We had a minor mishap with the syrup (a year found a bottle on the table and discreetly carried it to the playroom lol) and it held up well to the cleaning. While the shine on the finish is a bit duller than it was before the wash, the color held and didn't chip or scratch. My daughter got this for Christmas (she opened it around New Year's Eve) and although we love the concept and it's really cute and fun with it to play, ie We noticed that the paint was already peeling off parts like the red scarf that was painted on the snowman's white body. It's a little disappointing considering she's playing him on the carpet (he doesn't hit too hard when thrown on the floor or whatever) and the fact that it's only been a few weeks . This was the perfect present for my niece. But as others have pointed out in their reviews, the problem lies with the color. I didn't even start unwrapping the plastic from the snowman and seeing the imperfections. The paint on the eye, nose and scarf was either never finished or had already chipped - BEFORE it was even opened! This is very disappointing from a retailer that prides itself on children's toys. Looks good but the workmanship is poor and the finish is very poor. I gave it to my 21 month old daughter and after putting her fingers through the middle hole of the wooden pieces, she showed me her white fingers: they had very small particles of white paint on them.
