Memorex DVD 4 7GB Hang 32025517 Review

Not compatible with DVD recorders for TV recording Website doesn't say so, but the back of the discs says the discs only support 4x and 8x recording . my dvd recorder supports dvd+rw media but needs to support 1x recording to record tv.

The Manufacturer ID/Disc ID returned for these 8x DVD+RWs is RITEK-008-00. That means they were made by Ritek. To me, Ritek was a pretty reliable Tier 2 optical media manufacturer. This is not the typical Memorex quality left to the worst optical disc manufacturer, CMC. I haven't formatted, burned, or tediously tested these drives yet. I only post my results based on Vendor ID. I have written to the company that sold me this product and told them it is defective but they refuse to do anything about it so I won't be with them buy and i will tell people to stay away from you

I have been dubbing 8X Memorex DVD+RWs onto these discs for over a year with no problems. Just ordered another box because the backups are getting bigger and need a few more. My two DVD drives are Lite-On LH-20a1h ATA and SHM-165H6s ATA.

My Lite-On drive meets the requirements to use these drives, but none of the drives are recognized. I even flashed my drive with updated firmware but it still won't read or write those discs.

I've made more rewritable disc stands than I can count. I use a new burner and burn it properly at half speed, but that doesn't matter. Blank DVD prices are so low that rewritable discs are no longer an economic incentive. I'm buying blank media now.

To use this DVD+RW 8X disc, make sure you have the latest firmware version of your DVD drive, then you won't have any problems so have its benefit. !
