Too soon to say, but I may convert from the big brands

I still haven't washed this top yet (It's merino, so you don't have to every time, and you shouldn't, especially in a machine - NEVER dry!), so I can't give durability impressions yet, but I've worn it snowboarding a few times now, and it's performing really well as a midweight top. I even fell asleep in it. This is Australian sourced and made, like similar larger companies. As with any merino layers, there's no itch factor and it doesn't take on odor. I was concerned about the stretch factor…

Pros
  • lightweight warmth
Cons
  • Sleeves are longer

great base layer for backpacking

I used this as a base layer for backpacking and it kept me warm and dry. Not itchy and looks good as a shirt on its own. I recommend washing by hand or on its own as the fabric starts to get fuzzy when put in with other clothes.

Pros
  • Base layer for my winter adventures.
Cons
  • Needs to have a Scoop neck option too

Comfy, little loose, keeps me pretty warm

Love the feel and the fabric. Was hoping it was a little more thick but honestly it’s probably perfect that it’s breathable.VERY pricey but I’d give it an 8/10.

Pros
  • fits very well.....is very soft and not bulky...but very warm!!
Cons
  • May have a distinct odor after extended wear

Now I want one for every day of the week.

Bought this shirt as a good base layer while I work outside. I was surprised it was so thin, but after wearing it all day, it definitely did the job. Super comfortable, might buy more.

Pros
  • This fits like a glove and is soft and warm. Be sure to line dry it.
Cons
  • Might not provide enough breathability for some wearers

Soft and warm! for my opinion

This fits perfectly! The sleeves cover my wrists and it falls below my waist. It is so soft and comfy and very warm. I am very happy with this!

Pros
  • INCLUDES: 1 – Raglan Sleeve Crewneck Base-layer Next to Skin Underlayer. MATERIAL: 17.5 Micron, 100% Merino wool, 180g/m2. SIZE: S to XXL
Cons
  • Can be too tight on the arms

comfortable thermal layer

Having purchased Meriwool garments previously for myself and my husband, I knew this top would be comfortable and a great weight to wear beneath sweaters around the house this fall/ winter. I ordered this garment in particular because the neckline is not tight to the neck, so it is possible to wear a crewneck sweater over it without the neckline of this liner showing. I was surprised at how long this is. I am a short person (5'1") and this hits below my hips and buttocks, making it bulky to…

Pros
  • Buy it !
Cons
  • May have a tendency to pill after extended use

Super comfortable and lightweight

This top is so comfortable! It is very lightweight. It won’t keep you warm wearing it alone. This needs to be under layers. It fits perfect everywhere except for the length on me. I am 5’1 and I weigh 116. If I don’t bunch it up around my waist/hips it goes past my butt. Like a really short form fitted dress. Overall I love meriwool products. I wanted a cozy thermal top to wear under layers, so it is perfect. The only downside is this black top attracts a whole lot of lint! So if you are using…

Pros
  • The high-quality construction and materials used to make the shirt ensure that it will last for many seasons to come, making it a great investment piece
Cons
  • May not provide enough insulation for prolonged exposure to cold weather

Made for very tall, long armed person

I should have heeded the warnings but I think my arms actually are a bit long. The sleeves are very, very long and yes, it is almost the length of a mini dress. The wool is just wonderful - soft, lightweight, but not too thin. I'm usually a medium but bought a large because I want to use it more as a t-shirt than a base layer, and the fit was otherwise great so a smaller size isn't the answer. One can only do so much folding and tucking! Sadly I'm returning this.

Pros
  • This is my first time trying this product. I ordered it in black, size sm and it fits great.
Cons
  • Form fitting style may not be flattering on all body types

100% recommend on my review.

Seriously the best money I've ever spent. This short is soft, light weight, water wicking, and so very warm. This is the second of these I've purchased because it is perfect for skiing, snowshoeing, or any cold weather activity. I often find this shirt is enough on it's own while playing in the snow.

Pros
  • MERIWOOL
Cons
  • May not keep the wearer warm enough in damp conditions

Not that great for the $$$

The biggest issue I had with this wool base layer shirt is that, as other reviewers said, it is ridiculously long! I am 5'4". 124 lbs. I ordered a small. It fit comfortably. It as you can see from the pic, it's long enough to be a dress. I just couldn't see wearing this with jeans or hiking pants. It would look ridiculous. The sleeves were a bit long but I could have dealt with that. The fabric though was very nice. Not itchy and I think it would breathe well. It felt thin but it probably would

Pros
  • Great base layer. Warm, comfy and lightweight. Highly recommend.
Cons
  • Not suitable for hot or humid weather

Comfy wool underwear

This is a good woolen underwear however, the sleeves are a bit tight. Its difficult to pull the sleeves up. I also have difficulty putting in on when I'm wearing bracelets.

Pros
  • Soft and stretchy and comfortable.
Cons
  • May not provide enough warmth for extreme cold weather

No kidding it's long all over!

As you can see from the pics, do heed the other reviewers: this thing is long in the arms and very long in the torso. I have a new minidress I guess!I took these pics 5min after unboxing, so this isn't something that only happens after you've worn it for a long day or five. I can't tell if it was supposed to be designed this way (long length to tuck into pants and stay put?) or just . weird. It definitely doesn't look like the model in the photo.I'm a pear-ish hourglass shape, and the shirt…

Pros
  • The shirt comes in a range of colors and sizes, making it easy to find one that fits your style and body shape
Cons
  • Can feel too tight around the shoulders

Better than expected!

Love it! So smooth and comfortable, layering thickness but not so thin that it doesn't do the job of keeping the warmth in. Would buy a dozen if the cost wasn't budget busting.

Pros
  • loved it
Cons
  • Not a good option for people who do not like tight-fitting clothing

Great layering piece for both hiking and sleeping

The fit was true to size, though should be noted that the sleeves are a bit long. I love this as it allows me to pull them down over my wrists, but the material is stretchy enough that I can roll them up when necessary without any issues. Wore as a baselayer one night while camping and noticed that it kept me significantly warmer that the night I slept without it. Hiking also wasn't an issue - we were hiking mountains in 65 degree weather, and I didn't feel overheated in the least. Would…

Cons
  • Can make the wearer too hot in warm weather

Kept me warm - my new review

I bought this for a recent trip to Iceland. I was nervous that the lighter gram would not be warm enough but it was the perfect weight if you plan to dress in layers. Highly recommend. Washed well also.

Pros
  • I liked the weight of it. It ran a little small.
Cons
  • May not be as moisture-wicking as other base layers

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Bad fit, see through, and uncomfortable

Couldn't wait to try this on when it arrived based on all the positive reviews. It was a serious letdown. Item is terribly see through all over, and the material felt itchy. It was also skin tight in the bodice, but the arms were extremely long and loose. This was not at all comfortable in any way to me, and I really wanted to love it. Sending it back now and will keep the search going for a great feeling 100% merino wool base layer!

Pros
  • Does exactly what it says it will. Little thin for the price, but soft against the skin.
Cons
  • May require special care to maintain the quality of the wool

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Attractive and practical in one soft shirt

Soft merino wool is non-itchy and thermoregulating. Needed a long sleeve merino shirt to layer for a fall camping trip, but wanted it to do double duty as an attractive long sleeve tee for everyday cool weather wear and light-packing travel. This fit the bill for versatility. I wish it could come in less packaging, but that's my only complaint.

Pros
  • Warm and great for layering. Fits as expected.
Cons
  • Not suitable for extremely cold temperatures
