Atypical Merrell quality

We have bought several pairs of Merrell shoes for our kids and we generally like the value for money. These shoes started falling apart within the first week. I thought about sending them back but my kid liked the look so we kept them. The shoe has now completely fallen apart, the sole of both shoes has come loose from the shaft. I will buy Merrell shoes again but not this one. .

Pros
  • Merrell Kids' M-Mqm Flex Low unisex running shoes offer great support and protection for little ones who love to explore the great outdoors, ensuring young adventurers can navigate any terrain safely and comfortably.
Cons
  • Shoes can be too stiff or inflexible, which limits children's range of motion and mobility when hiking or other active activities.

Tight fit. new rating

I love the design and the lack of straps but the shoe is very snug/tight and difficult to put on. My 5 year old can't put them on by himself and it's so tight I fit him. Once on they are great and hold up very well. But we need to find something else to get him to go to school so he can do it himself.

Pros
  • My son loves them, can buy a second pair for a size up. Also very cute
Cons
  • Shoes may not be designed to provide adequate support for a child's feet, which can lead to injury while hiking or other physical activities.

hiking shoes do not. - my new rating

They appeared as hiking shoes. These are not hiking shoes. I was thinking of just keeping them as regular street shoes for my son but actually they aren't even that high quality. I like Merrell shoes but I am very disappointed in their quality.

Pros
  • Quality shoes and my 6 year old loves that there is no velcro but no laces either.
Cons
  • Shoes can wear out quickly and need to be replaced frequently, ultimately resulting in additional costs for parents or caregivers.

Goes well for me

These are very attractive shoes. They are comfortable and my son loves them. They definitely run small/tight, so order one size larger. Also, we've had these few months and they don't last, as do other merrels I'm looking for sturdy boys shoes. Although my son wears them 24/7.

Pros
  • My daughter loves her. They fit as expected and are of good quality.
Cons
  • Shoes may not fit as expected, causing blisters and discomfort in the child wearing them.

Torn shoelaces, broken dreams.

Worn less than 2 months, laces ripped. My son fidgets through school all day with a broken shoe, the other shoelace wears out quickly. Very disappointed with the quality previously associated with Merrells.

Pros
  • My son loves her. He says they are very comfortable and we live in rainy and snowy areas so the waterproof front is good.
Cons
  • The combination of navy blue and orange may not suit all children's preferences and will limit the marketability of the product.

nice shoes though. in my rating

It was cute, but putting those shoes on and taking them off was a real hassle. Maybe your child with very narrow feet will have an easier time, I'm not sure. We have other Merrell styles that fit well, are well made and are easy to put on and take off. Less than 3 months later with these sneakers we gave them away. Not worth the escalation.

Pros
  • Good light shoes. Daughter likes the quick bungee tie instead of the laces. Makes the morning so much faster!
Cons
  • Younger children may find it difficult to manipulate the lacing system on their own, limiting their ability to wear shoes on their own.
