Merrell is one of the best shoe brands for men and boys with wide feet. It's very difficult to find shoes that fit my son, but these shoes fit perfectly. When he put them on I asked him if they hurt him, if they rub against him etc. Every time he answered that no, they are very comfortable. We bought them for hiking but we will wear them in winter. With a tread on the bottom, it shouldn't have any problems with snow or ice.

My 11 year old daughter loves them. Says they are warm and comfortable. You can run and hike in the snow in any weather and your feet will stay warm and dry. Her friends at school keep asking her where she got them from because her school has an outdoor lab, a four-day hike where they learn about wildlife and ecology. For this trip you will need waterproof walking shoes. I will update this review after this trip but I'm sure they will be great for her.

I really like these. I bought these shoes for a different reason than most people: my 3 year old had a stroke during childbirth which resulted in left side weakness. He often wears an AFO on his left leg, but he HATES it! So we use these shoes to give him a break from the corset a few days a week.
