Merrell is one of the best shoe brands for men and boys with wide feet. It's very difficult to find shoes that fit my son, but these shoes fit perfectly. When he put them on I asked him if they hurt him, if they rub against him etc. Every time he answered that no, they are very comfortable. We bought them for hiking but we will wear them in winter. With a tread on the bottom, it shouldn't have any problems with snow or ice.
