I have this dog food, subscribe and save. This bag was delivered in September and when I picked up the unopened bag today I found it completely bloated! Of course I exceeded the return period. There was no gas when I got it, but today it looks like a hard balloon. I've read that bags of human food that bulge with air shouldn't be eaten, so I'm assuming it's the same for pet food?!?!?!?! We got this dog from Animal Rescue. They estimated he was around three years old, Hw wasn't eating so he wasn't interested when we took him home and offered him food. We walked all over town buying all kinds of dog food. Nothing. I started to get concerned and my husband offered Charlie the food that was still on his plate. We found the answer. My little Chiviny and my little German Shepherd both love Merrick Lil' Plates Small Breed dog food. I wish we had discovered this a long time ago. They are easy to eat and apparently very tasty. I would recommend this food to anyone who has a small/toy or medium sized dog. Unfortunately both of our dogs got sick at the same time. We fed our dogs regular Merrick food and decided to switch to adult food after one of our dogs developed back problems (we also started giving dogs the older vitamin glucosamine admit) . The dog's back is feeling better and she has gone from 15 pounds to 13.5 pounds in just over a month. I like that the pellet pieces are so small that I think my other dog will be easier to eat (he doesn't have the best teeth). We plan to continue feeding them this food. Overall I am happy with the brand and quality of this feed. My older Maltese loves it too. The only reason I gave two stars for the main reason is because my bag was "slightly torn". It had a gap of about 1/2 inch if you will, just a few inches below the zipper hole. IT was whole, not torn or damaged as far as I could see.
